At Flawless Design Driveways, we are experts in Resin bound gravel as well as Resin bonded gravel.

What Is Resin Bound?

With resin bound surfacing the aggregate is mixed with the resin. The material is then trowelled down to a smooth finish similar to a screed (with no loose stones). Depths are specified depending on use, normally 15mm - 18mm

Resin bound aggregate is porous, allowing water to permeate/percolate through the surface and beyond when a suitable base build-up configured for SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) has been installed.

What Is Resin Bonding?

This system involves applying a film of resin to the surface, on top of which clean, dry aggregate is scattered; completely covering the resin. Once cured, any excess stone is swept up. The size of stone used in the resin bonded system ranges from 1mm to 6mm. The thin, impermeable, single stone layer tends to have a rougher more textured finish.

A resin bonded system delivers a non-permeable, single stone layer surface. Because the stone only adheres to the resin on one side it could become loose and scatter unlike resin bound aggregates, where as the aggregate is trowelled into place it cant come loose.
